‘RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under’ Judges to Return for Season 2

RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under, Australia and New Zealand’s version of the popular drag queen competition, is returning for Season 2. The show just announced that last season’s judges will all be returning to the panel this year to share their thoughts with a brand-new set of contestants.
‘RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under’ Judges to Return
Stan, the Australian TV network that airs the show, recently tweeted that RuPaul, Michelle Visage, and Rhys Nicholson will all be returning to the judging panel for the upcoming second season of the show. All three judges appeared on the first season, which aired last year.
RuPaul and Visage are both judges on the original Drag Race, as well as Drag Race UK and the upcoming UK Versus The World. RuPaul also serves as host. Nicholson, meanwhile, is an Australian comedian who has only appeared on Season 1 of Drag Race Down Under.
The judge announcement doesn’t specify a premiere date for the new season of Down Under, but promises that it’s “coming soon.” Filming for Season 2 reportedly started earlier this month in Auckland, New Zealand.

Who Won the First Season of the Show?
Season 1 of RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under aired from May to June 2021. Contestants competed to be named “Down Under’s first Drag Superstar,” with the prize including $30,000 and a one-year supply of Revolution Beauty Cosmetics.
The season started off with 10 queens, and New Zealand queen Kita Mean (real name Nick Nash) was eventually crowned the winner. Australian queens Art Simone, Karen from Finance, and Scarlet Adams were runners-up. In the season finale, the final four battled it out in a lip sync to Olivia Newton-John’s “Physical.”
For the second season of Down Under, the network TVNZ is partnering with Stan, World of Wonder, Passion Distribution, and Warner Bros. International Television Production New Zealand.
