Just one month after DJ Khaled was announced as the newest judge on Go-Big Show, he made a shocking exit. The music producer has been replaced by T-Pain on the judging panel. The pair have had a rocky relationship since 2013 after collaborating on multiple hit tracks.

T-Pain Steps in to Judge ‘Go-Big Show’ After DJ Khaled’s Exit

T-Pain will join Rosario Dawson, Jennifer Nettles, and Cody Rhodes for Season 2 of the TBS show. Host Bert Kreischer made the announcement in a video posted on the shows official Instagram account. T-Pain does know a thing or two about talent shows after winning the first season of The Masked Singer in 2019.

Khaled was previously announced as the replacement for Season 1 judge Snoop Dogg in mid-July. Snoop’s busy schedule was the reason for him stepping away. Khaled was also set to step into the role of executive producer. The network has not yet provided a reason for Khaled’s exit from the show and has not clarified whether or not he will still be a producer.

Go-Big Show’s 10-episode second season is currently in production in Georgia. The show focuses on extreme acts all vying for a $100,000 prize. Khaled’s over-the-top personality was a big reason why the show initially tapped him to judge. Producers have teased that the show will go even bigger this season and he was their “only option.”

The Musicians Have a Very Complicated History

The most shocking part about this Go-Big Show switch-up is that the show chose to replace Khaled with someone he is no longer friends with. T-Pain was surprisingly left off of DJ Khaled’s 2013 Suffering From Success album. Instead, Future, who T-Pain was beefing with at the time, was featured on multiple tracks.

Khaled and T-Pain had been longtime collaborators up until that point, namely on Khaled’s 2010 hit song “All I Do Is Win.” T-Pain lent his vocals to “I’m So Hood” off of Khaled’s We The Best album in 2007. Their relationship dynamic changed when T-Pain called Future “the new T-Pain” and criticized his use of autotune.

He posted about Ace Hood and Future’s “Bugatti” music video on social media. The car in the video once belonged to T-Pain himself. His social media post caused a ton of confusion within the rap community. Khaled was not happy about the dig that T-Pain made at Future and Hood. Hood was signed to Khaled’s We The Best label at the time.

“Khaled was like, ‘take the post down,'” T-Pain said during an appearance on Drink Champs. “The whole thing was miscommunication. And this is the reason why me and Khaled to this day don’t f*ck with each other.”

This is an interesting move by Go-Big Show, but it does make some sense. T-Pain also has a big personality which is needed to round out the judging panel. Just based on Instagram comments, viewers are excited to see him take a seat and watch some death-defying acts.
