Luke Bryan Announces Upcoming ‘American Idol’ Performance

The music video for “Waves” follows one epic love story that takes place on the beach. It is impossible for Bryan to make a bad song at this point. He very clearly pours his heart and soul into everything he releases and expect no less from this performance. Plus we can’t wait to see fellow judges Katy Perry and Lionel Richie cheer him on as they watch.

Bryan was just announced as one of the headliners of Las Vegas residency in 2022 at the new The Theatre at Resorts World Las Vegas. The six-show commitment will start on February 11, which is normally around the same time American Idol premieres on television.

“Everybody comes to Vegas to party and have fun and I feel like my catalog has songs that really will enhance and make that experience even more fun,” Bryan told People.

Was Bryan’s Performance Added to the Lineup at the Last Minute?

This week, the Top 5 (now the Top 4) were supposed to perform three times on Sunday. First, they will be performing songs by their mentor Finneas in groups. Next, each contestant will perform a song by their musical idol followed by the original songs that they recorded with major producers.

Bryan will be giving American Idol fans the country fix that they look forward to every season. With Caleb, the country kid, out of the competition now, it is likely that the producers scrambled to find ways to take up his would-be time slot.

Caleb posted on Instagram to explain his exit from the competition. The 16-year-old said he “displayed actions that were not meant to be taken in that way.”
