Fans of American Idol are absolutely freaking out about the show’s latest Instagram announcement. Finneas was just announced as the Top 5 mentor for next week’s episode. The brother of music superstar Billie Eilish is the perfect person to be mentoring the remaining contestants who are all vying to become the next American Idol.
Finneas Will be Mentoring the Top 5 on ‘American Idol’ Next Week
Next Sunday, May 16, Finneas will be joining American Idol not just to mentor the contestants, but to perform with Ashe. Their song “Till Forever Falls Apart” has been blowing up all over social media and we fully expect them to perform it on next week’s show. The music video is very artsy and demonstrates both of these unique artists’ creativity and vulnerability during a time where the world is trying to put itself back together.
“Till Forever Falls Apart” was written the day before most of the United States went into lockdown at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic last year. Ashe knew that she wanted Finneas on the song the second it was written. The 8-time Grammy winner was more than willing to add his own spin on the hit.
“I think because Ashe and I actually are true friends and we’re both in very public relationships, I didn’t want to write about something that wasn’t honest,” Finneas said about the song. “So I thought I’d just write this song about this friend who I love deeply in the way that we all love our friends.”
Ashe just released her album two days ago. Finneas is a huge fan of the singer/songwriter and praised her music on Instagram before the big American Idol announcement.
“Ashe put out one of my favorite albums ever today and if you haven’t already, you need to drop what you’re doing and listen to the whole thing right now!” he wrote.
Tune in next Sunday to American Idol to see which contestants advance to the finale.
