Outraged Billie Eilish Fans Call For An End To Body-Shaming The 18-Year-Old Singer
Billie Eilish was spotted out recently wearing an outfit that was a little different than her normal look. However, several people have taken to social media to create memes and body shame the 18-year-old. Her fans from all over the world are calling for an end to these uncalled for critiques.
Billie Eilish Sported A New Outfit And People Went Wild
In the past, Billie has opened up about how wearing baggier clothes is a way for her to protect herself from being body shamed. “I never want the world to know everything about me” she previously said in a Calvin Klein campaign. “I mean, that’s why I wear big baggy clothes. Nobody can have an opinion because they haven’t seen what’s underneath, you know?”
People were mocking her body shape and being incredibly rude to the singer when these viral pictures surfaced of her stepping out in public. In reality, Billie has done nothing but be herself, and simply wear a tank top.
They attacked her personal appearance on social media, which made millions of her loyal fans very unhappy.
Billie clapped back at criticism of her wearing the spaghetti-strapped tank top and shorts by posting a body-positive TikTok on her Instagram story. The TikTok had the caption “Can we normalize normal bodies?”
Fans Are Showing Their Support For Billie
Fans are rallying around the singer to call for an end to body shaming. “Just a PSA that Billie Eilish’s body is none of our business. Just another PSA that all bodies are beautiful and ‘critique’ from men about our own bodies, is irrelevant” one Twitter user said.
“Billie Eilish is beautiful! PLEASE, do not body shame her, or anyone for that matter. Body shaming is not ‘news’ or ‘gossip’ it’s HARMFUL and UNACCEPTABLE,” YouTuber Jessie Paege wrote on Twitter.
“To anyone who is body shaming Billie Eilish please stop putting unrealistic beauty standards on women. She doesn’t deserve that and no one else deserves that either. Billie is and will always be beautiful please stop judging her” another Twitter user wrote.
Others related to Billie because they saw that they too had the same body type as them and denounced body shaming. “As someone with a body v similar to Billie Eilish I’m gonna need y’all to shut the f*ck up about women’s bodies,” wrote another Twitter user.
Previously, Billie self-produced a short-film called “Not My Responsibility.” In a voiceover, she questions why people feel the need to body shame her in a very vulnerable setting. “If I shed layers I’m a slut,” she says as she removes her shirt to reveal a black bra in the video.
The bottom line is, people should be able to wear whatever they want and not have to worry about being criticized for it. Those in the public eye may not have it so easy because they are always subject to ridicule and that needs to change.
