Song Choices Revealed for ‘American Idol’ Mother’s Day, Coldplay Night

Mother’s Day and Coldplay might seem like an unusual theme for American Idol, but that’s exactly what we can expect from this Sunday’s new episode. And now we know exactly which songs each of the Top 7 singers will be performing.
Sunday’s episode has been dubbed “Coldplay Songbook & Mother’s Day Dedication.” Each singer will perform a song for their loved one, as well as a Coldplay hit. Frontman Chris Martin will be the singers’ mentor, as well as debuting the band’s new single “Higher Power.”

‘American Idol’ Mother’s Day Song Choices
Billboard has reported which songs each of the Top 7 contestants will be singing for their Mother’s Day tribute. They include hits by Adele and Joe Cocker, although some of the artists will be singing original compositions.

Willie Spence: “You Are So Beautiful” by Joe Cocker
The Top 7 was decided during last week’s episode when the Top 10 performed Disney songs for America’s vote. Season 18 contestant Arthur Gunn was named as the comeback star for this season. He made it through to this Sunday’s next round.
