Jen Affleck Deals with Sickness Ahead of DWTS Dedication Night
This week on DWTS, the remaining celebrities will dance routines dedicated to important people in their lives. Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Jen Affleck and her partner Jan Ravnik are supposed to be dancing a Viennese waltz to “Rescue” by Lauren Daigle, dedicated to Jen’s mother Maria.
However, fans are questioning whether Jen and Jan will be able to perform, due to a TikTok post by Jen’s husband Zac. On Sunday, Zac posted a slideshow explaining that Jen “has been so sick she hasn’t been able to practice, and has been stuck in bed most [of] the week.”
“Jen would never ask but she really needs all the hope and prayers she can get,” Zac continued. He asked fans to share a comment of support for Jen, adding that he would be printing them out and decorating Jen’s trailer on Tuesday ahead of this week’s show.
Jen Affleck apparently isn’t the only member of the cast who has been sick this week. Also on Sunday, Andy Richter’s partner Emma Slater wrote on TikTok, “We had a week of illness so I’ll be honest with you, it’s been hard and I’m so appreciative of @AndyRichterTikTok for all the hard work to get this salsa going.”
A DWTS fan shared Zac Affleck’s TikTok post on the show’s subreddit, prompting fellow users to wonder if Jen Affleck will be able to perform on Tuesday. Some fans suggested that if Jen is able to film her and Jan’s rehearsal during camera blocking, the panel might be able to judge that instead of a live performance.
If it were Jan who was sick, Jen would most likely be able to dance with a troupe member or an eliminated pro. For example, in Season 32, Ezra Sosa filled in for Artem Chigvintsev to dance with Charity Lawson. However, the celebrity being sick seems to make the situation more complicated.
The Reddit user who posted the thread also pointed out that Jan was apparently live on TikTok on Saturday, and he “never mentioned anything about her being sick.” They added, “He actually said he cried while they were rehearsing with Jen’s mom for Dedication Night. Hopefully it’s nothing serious and Zac is just a concerned husband.”
We’ll have to wait and see what happens when Dancing with the Stars Season 34 returns live Tuesday night on ABC and Disney+.
