Val Chmerkovskiy wouldn’t mind being in a “throuple” with wife Jenna Johnson and her DWTS partner Tyson Beckford. For those who may not know, the three are all part of the cast of Dancing With The Stars season 32.
Val Chmerkovskiy Jokingly Approves “Throuple” Idea with Wife Jenna Johnson and Her DWTS Partner
During an interview with E! News, Johnson joked that she and Chmerkovskiy are basically in a “throuple” with Beckford. On October 10, Chmerkovskiy gave his response to the agreement.
“How do I feel about a throuple?” he said. “There’s something very mischievous about that word and I’m a fan. I’m a fan of throuple.”
As a competitive dancer on DWTS himself, Chmerkovskiy understands why Johnson and Beckford were able to form a strong friendship. He himself has founded a good relationship with his celebrity partner Xochitl Gomez.
“Listen, this process is very intense,” he said. “If you want to do it right, you have to commit yourself as a professional, as a teacher.”
Unfortunately, Johnson and Beckford have already been eliminated from Dancing With The Stars season 32. Meanwhile, Chmerkovskiy and Gomez are still in the competition, now gearing up for the show’s Disney100 Night. The two will dance paso doble to “Un Poco Loco” from Coco.
In early October, the 17-year-old Marvel star revealed that she was actually hoping to be paired with Chmerkovskiy. Luckily, the stars listened to her prayers, becoming partners with the DWTS pro later on.
“I went into it literally like, ‘Please Val, please. I need Val.’ Purely because of his great work that he’s done with Laurie and Zendaya,” she said.
According to Gomez, she’s privileged that Chmerkovskiy can make their dance steps “not so intimate.” The actress went on to state that she’s thankful that the DWTS pro focuses on their routine’s beautiful choreography instead of its romantic side.
Beckson is Up for Some Babysitting Duties for the Couple’s Baby Rome
Although Chmerkovskiy and Beckford will not see each other more often in the ballroom, they’ll still see each other behind the scenes. Even though Beckford’s DWTS journey is over, he plans to keep in touch with Chmerkovskiy.
“I’ll try to find some way to bring Val on once this is done and he got some time to hang out on the east coast for a little bit,” he said.
The American model is even willing to take care of Johnson and Chmerkovskiy’s 9-month-old son, Rome.
“I’m still up for some babysitting,” he said. “Days in the park, me and Rome. He’s gonna wanna go somewhere to eat all the time, so I’m just gonna take some of my Dancing With the Stars and feed the kid.”
Of their son, Johnson and Chmerkovskiy have actually talked about enrolling Rome in dance classes. Chmerkovskiy is fully supportive of the idea while Johnson is kind of hesitant.
“I don’t know,” she said. “Val says yes. I’m a little bit indifferent.”
Johnson began her dancing career at a very young age. Nonetheless, she wants to ensure that if Rome decides to do the same, he is genuinely interested in it.
“If he loves [dance], I’ll support it, of course,” she said. “But I don’t want him to feel pressured just to do it because mom and dad do it.”
