Why Is ‘The Voice’ Season 19 Premier Delayed?
The Voice will be returning later this year for Season 19, but when can we expect to watch the premiere episode? It turns out we might have to wait longer than we thought.
Earlier this month, Variety spilled details on the upcoming fall schedule for NBC, and it turns out that another show will be taking The Voice‘s typical spot. Read on to find out when we can expect the new season.
When Will ‘The Voice’ Season 19 Premiere?
Variety reports that American Ninja Warrior will premiere on NBC Monday, September 7, at 8 pm. This is replacing the usual spot for The Voice‘s fall season. Sources told the outlet that the season will not be ready for its previously scheduled premiere.
Instead, we’ll have to wait until “sometime later in the fall” to reunite with our favorite coaches. Obviously, the COVID-19 pandemic is posing a challenge for many productions. The Voice finished its last season with the artists and judges appearing remotely from their homes.
Earlier this year, The Voice introduced virtual open calls for hopeful artists to audition for the upcoming season. The last open call dates announced by the show’s casting were on July 16 and 17.
According to Gold Derby, blind auditions for Season 19 were filmed at Universal Studios Hollywood from August 3-7. There was no live audience, but fans of the show had the chance to be a part of the “digital audience.”
Who Are The Coaches For Season 19?
Coaches Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, and John Legend will all be returning to their spinning chairs for the new season of the show. However, Nick Jonas (who joined the show for his first season earlier this year) will not be back.
Instead, past coach Gwen Stefani will return to the show. Gwen has coached various seasons throughout the years, although she’s never won. In 2014, Gwen met her boyfriend Blake through their time on the show.
Host Carson Daly will also be back to emcee the show. We can’t wait until a more concrete premiere date is announced. Which coach are you most excited to see return? Let us know in the comments.
