Former Dancing with the Stars partners Daniel Durant and Britt Stewart shared a glimpse into their romantic date night on Instagram this week. Fans watching the clip thought it might be an engagement video before they realized what type of jewelry Durant had bought for Stewart.
Fans Thought Daniel Durant Proposed to Britt Stewart
On Thursday, Stewart shared a video promoting Kay Jewelers, in which Durant can be seen surprising her with a romantic date night at home. The clip starts with a shot of Durant presenting Stewart with a jewelry box.
Durant then tells those watching about his plans to surprise Stewart after a work trip. He presents her with flowers when she walks in the door, and they sit down on the couch with a pizza and a bottle of wine. Durant then presents Stewart with a jewelry box.
The gift turned out to be a pair of earrings, although fans in the comments were clearly fooled into thinking it was an engagement ring. Even fellow DWTS pro Ezra Sosa thought so. He commented, “wait…is that…. a RING?!?!?!?” Then he wrote, “FALSE ALARM OMG FALSE ALARM.”
Fans on the DWTS Reddit also shared that they thought it was an engagement video at first. Some predicted that an actual engagement isn’t far off for the couple, who announced they were dating in February.
The Couple Met on DWTS Last Year
Durant and Stewart were paired up on Season 31 of Dancing with the Stars, which aired last year. Together, they finished the competition in fifth place. Durant later appeared with Stewart on select dates of the show’s live tour.
As the former dance partners shared their friendship on social media after the show, fans thought they saw sparks flying between the two. They turned out to be right, as Durant and Stewart confirmed they were dating around Valentine’s Day.
This year on DWTS, Stewart was paired with NFL player Adrian Peterson. The two were eliminated earlier this season, but Stewart recently returned to the ballroom for the show’s Len Goodman tribute.
