What Are The Winners of ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ Up to Now?

Since premiering in 2007, Britain’s Got Talent has seen some of the most entertaining acts to date. With 15 total champions, there’s no shortage of talented individuals that graced the stage with their amazing acts. We take a look at what the winners have been up to since their time in the show.


1. Paul Potts

Paul Potts became the first ever winner of BGT after almost two million votes were cast for him. He spends his days making music having released multiple studio albums. Potts is currently signed by Modest Management after leaving Syco behind in 2009.

2. George Sampson

Breakdancer and eventual winner of the second series of BGT have transitioned from dance to acting. Some of his acting roles include Kyle Stack in Waterloo Road, Gary in Mount Pleasant and also starred in Emmerdale.

3. Diversity

Dance troupe Diversity is the unexpected winner of series three and they went on to have a successful career as a group. After winning the show, the group performed successful tours and had numerous TV show appearances.


4. Spelbound

Series four of BGT would see the rise of Spelbound, a gymnastic group that performs astonishing routines. They released a dance DVD in 2010 and performed in the Olympics twice. Spelbound has also performed for the Queen at the Royal Variety Performance but has been keeping quiet since.

5. Jai McDowall

The surprising winner of BGT series five, Jai McDowall had relatively little success after the show. Publicly lashing out at Simon Cowell for his criticisms did little to help his musical career. He was dropped by Syco after only one year of being signed.

6. Ashleigh and Pudsey

Ashleigh Butler and her dog Pudsey are probably the most unique duo act to have won BGT. After bagging the £500,00 cash prize, the duo appeared on shows including Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway. Pudsey had a top-selling autobiography and a self-titled movie that stars David Walliams and Amanda Holden.

7. Attraction

The Hungarian dance troupe has been touring around the world after winning series seven of BGT. Attraction has performed for Queen Margrethe of Denmark at her birthday celebrations and created a special routine for China’s 2014 New Year gala.

8. Collabro

The musical theatre boy band Collabro, has found international success after winning BGT series eight. The group’s debut album went straight to number one and was certified gold, they also signed a £1 million deal with Sony Masterworks in the US. The group now enjoys touring across the world.

9. Jules O’Dwyer & Matisse

The double act is known for the controversy of switching dogs in the finale, has kept quiet since then. After the public outcry of the fans saying they were deceived, it’s surprising that Cowell did not strip them of the cash prize.

10. Richard Jones

The first magician to have won BGT, he took to the stage at the Royal Variety Performance in front of the Royal Family soon after. Jones went on a nationwide tour across the UK called The Power of Imagination

11. Tokio Myers

Musician Tokio Myers continually impressed crowds with his incredible mixture of classical and electronic music. Since winning the show last year, Tokio has released a debut album called Our Generation. Myers is also featured on Cowell’s charity single Bridge Over Troubled Water in the wake of the Grenfell Tower disaster.

12. Lost Voice Guy

Stand-up comedian Lost Voice Guy has won the hearts of many with his unique style of entertainment. He still performs after winning and took a starring role in the second series of the sitcom Ability. The Lost Voice Guy returned on stage on the spinoff America’s Got Talent: The Champions.

13. Colin Thackery

The oldest winner of the show, at 92 years of age Colin Thackery has been busy since winning BGT. Thackery released his debut album Love Changes Everything and it peaked at number 13 in the UK charts.

14. Jon Courtenay

Jon Courtenay. the series 14 winner of BGT is a musical comedian that can deliver emotional performances. After performing at the Royal Variety Performance, he was also present in Britain’s Got Talent Christmas Spectacular.

15. Axel Blake

The most recent winner of BGT, comedian Axel Blake has been performing on decently sized gigs in the country. He’s also working on his Amazon stand-up special which is entirely funded by himself.
