‘The Voice’ Reveals Top 8 Duet Partners
Reading Time: 2 minutes
The Voice announced that the Top 8 will be performing duets next week! Each contestant has been paired with an artist on a different team. These duets will happen on Monday night, so they will be a factor for voting into the Finale. The duets could be make or break for some Top 8 artists!
Here’s who will be singing together next week:
First up is Team Kelly’s Chevel Shepherd and Team Blake’s Kirk Jay. This duet of country artists with big personalities should be a fun one to watch! While we don’t know what they’ll sing yet, there are plenty of male/female country duets to choose from. This also could be a chance for Kirk to show off a more fun, youthful side than his usual ballads. He has mentioned that his band, Kuntry Funk, is a little crazy!
Chris Kroeze from Team Blake and Sarah Grace from Team Kelly are up next! These blues-inspired artists could have some really cool vibes together for their duet. I expect something classic and soulful. And we might even get to see some more instrumentals, like Chris playing guitar and Sarah playing trumpet! The duet could honestly be an entire band production and we’d be about it.
The last artist standing on Team Adam, Reagan Strange, and Team JHud’s Kennedy Holmes will make a duet showcasing two of the youngest artists left in the competition. These girls can really sing anything so I’m interested to hear what they come up with! Will we see Kennedy’s more energetic, showy side like we did last week with her “Me Too” performance? Can these two find a song that matches both Reagan’s pop/country style and Kennedy’s musical theater/diva repertoire? Will Reagan sing at all? (Too soon?) We can’t wait to see what they have in store!
Now I fully expect this last duet to take us to church! With Team JHud’s MaKenzie Thomas and Team Kelly’s Kymberli Joye paired together, these two female powerhouses who grew up singing gospel music could bring the performance of the night. Maybe even the season to be honest! This is definitely the duet I’m most excited for. MaKenzie and Kymberli have been known to tackle big songs and even bigger names, so I expect nothing less for their Top 8 duet. Let’s hope they give us that DaNica Shirey and Toia Jones or Amber Nicole vs Timyra-Joi moment. And it is just a coincidence they both sang Beyonce but I wouldn’t hate that either.
