The Voice Recap: The Knockouts Night 2

And just like that, night two of the knockouts are complete. Though the competition has been tough, we’re one step closer to the thrill of the live shows. Past winners are brought back as mentors to finish out the knockout rounds, so we revisited some of our favorite familiar faces. Let’s get started with tonight’s recap.

Brynn vs Jamella (Team Kelly)
Kelly starts off by saying she might use her one save on this pair, however that ended up not being the case. Brynn’s Here Comes Goodbye by Rascal Flats wowed the judges as the maturity in her voice is hard to beat. However, Jamella’s performance of Girl Crush brings a soulful and emotional connection that Kelly says you can’t teach to people. Although both ladies did an incredible job, Brynn walked away with the win.

Jaron vs Pryor (Team Blake)
This pairing on Blake’s team brought two very different performers onto the stage. Jaron chose to sing Grenade and although he worked the stage and has a great presence, the judges believed he needed more work in his vocals. Pryor, who is known for his incredible range, chooses the song Will It Go Round In Circles. Putting his musical career on hold to have a full-time job for so many years has shown that he belongs on the stage, with Adam giving him a huge compliment and saying that he is a potential finalist on this season. This, of course, sends Pryor to the next round.

Christiana vs Terrence (Team Alicia)
The best is always saved for last, and these two gave the best performances of the night. Picking only one of two very distinct artists will prove to be a challenge for Alicia. Christiana chose the song Elastic Heart by Sia, singing about resilience and strength through tough situations. Meanwhile Terrence’s performance of Tell Me Something Good ended the night with all four judges giving a standing ovation, and Kelly circling her chair once again. This leaves no easy decision but luckily, she has the choice to save and chooses that option at this moment after declaring Terrence as the winner. Both Kelly and Adam try to steal Christiana, but she stays loyal to her coach and remains on Team Alicia.
