The Voice Recap: The Finale Night One

It’s the moment we’ve been waiting for…we’ve finally made it to The Voice finale! There are four contestants left: Team Blake’s Spensha Baker and Kyla Jade, Team Kelly’s Brynn Cartelli and Team Alicia’s Britton Buchanan. This evening called for a night of the contestants performing three pieces, their own original music, a cover, and a duet with their coach. After tonight’s performances, we know The Voice title will be in good hands with any of the final four, and we can’t wait to see who it will be tonight.Â

Kyla Jade (Team Blake)Â
After performing to the song With A Little Help of My Friends, Kyla received an enthusiastic standing ovation from the judges. Kelly brought up a unique quality of the performance by saying the most beautiful part of it was how she included everyone on the stage who was standing behind her. Having been a backup singer for many years, this was a touching and personal compliment for her. Her coach, Blake, said that if she doesn’t win The Voice, he doesn’t know why they call the show “The Voice.”

Britton Buchanan (Team Alicia)Â
Having the chance to bring his own song to The Voice stage, Britton performed Where You Come From. He not only had his coach Alicia encouraging others to vote, but Adam was on the Team Britton page too. He told him that America would be lucky if he won the show because it is only the beginning to a much larger and successful career in music. His coach, Alicia, said that he is a true artist because he paints the picture of the performance each time he sings.

Kelly Clarkson and Brynn Cartelli Duet
This dynamic duo performed to the song Don’t Dream It’s Over. Brynn talked about how much she looked up to Kelly Clarkson and her music growing up. Kelly has been an inspiration for her throughout her singing career, and now she has become her friend and mentor.

Spensha Baker (Team Blake)Â
Performing to Merry Go Round, Spensha reflects on how her music career has come full circle. She says that three years ago when she quit music, she never thought she’d make it to The Voice. Her coach, Blake, says that America is looking at their next big country superstar.

Alicia Keys and Britton Buchanan DuetÂ
Dedicating this song to Avicii, the duo performed to Wake Me Up. Alicia was on the piano while Britton was on the guitar. It was a fantastic performance and fun to see both of their styles brought together.

Kyla Jade (Team Blake)Â
Performing to her second solo of the night, Kyla performs her own song The Last Tear and brings a strong final solo to the stage. Kelly compliments her on how it is a dream for any songwriter to have Kyla singing their song. Her coach, Blake, says that this show was designed to find people just like her because she is “the voice.”

Spensha Baker and Blake Shelton DuetÂ
Performing to Tell Me About It, the duo was fun to watch as they each brought their country twang to this piece.

Brynn Cartelli (Team Kelly)
Performing to Walk My Way, Brynn chose this song because she said it’s something that she can imagine being played on the radio today. Adam tells her that its still crazy to see the poise, grace and elegance she has at just 15 years old. While her coach, Kelly, says that she can picture Brynn creating her own album and can’t wait to hear it.

Kyla Jade and Blake Shelton Duet
Bringing a different side of Kyla to the table is her duet with Blake singing the song Only Love. Pairing her style with Blake’s country genre was out of her comfort zone and she rose to the occasion and showed America how versatile she is.

Britton Buchanan (Team Alicia)
Performing to Good Lovin, Britton seems to be having a blast throughout this performance and showing America just how much of an entertainer he is. Alicia was so excited after his performance and said that Britton made the energy in the room electric. She said there is no stopping him because that was the ultimate performance.

Singing her original single Old Soul, Spensha brought an emotional performance as her final solo of the night. Her coach, Blake, says that she’s ready to step off the stage and right onto country music radio.

Performing the Adele song Skyfall, Brynn closed out the show with a bang. Kelly urges America to vote for Brynn and her impeccable talent.
