Usher is returning to Las Vegas this summer for his brand new residency, Usher: The Vegas Residency. This new series takes place at Dolby Live at Park MGM. His past residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace completely sold out.

His past residency premiered in Summer 2021 and grossed more than $12.9 million. A moment of Usher singing live while on roller skates went viral and might have been the inspiration for his upcoming residency. In a recent interview, Usher mentioned the roller skates as inspiration for the show.

“I was a really big fan of Gene Kelly and I saw him do this routine in a classic film where he tap dances and he skates.” Usher said. “This time I feel like I can take my culture and where I come from and how we skate on wednesday and sundays and create things on stage. I’m skating on stage, that’s just one of the act that I have within the show.”

The interview touched a lot of topics relevant to the singer’s life. One topic was in relation to his children. He was asked if he would be bringing his children along to Las Vegas for the residency. The singer declined, noting that he is trying to bring the culture back.

“They say what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. that changed, now what happens in Vegas goes everywhere,” Usher said. “I feel like what I’m doing in Las Vegas is renewing that idea. The ideas I’ve chosen to put in the show, they’ve really come by way of the culture of where I come from, so I’m skating and there’s a strib club.”

Tickets for Usher’s upcoming residency at the Dolby Live at Park MGM go on sale to the general public on Friday, February 25, 2022. Tickets for this event range from $175 to $458. There are two types of banquette seating, ultimate premium and premium, available for this summer’s shows. These tables seat up to eight guests and comes with other benefits.
