Since season 21 kicked off, numerous fans were already rooting for Bindi Irwin, and it’s not difficult to understand why. As the daughter of the late legendary conservationist Steve Irwin, she happened to be gifted in the ballroom. Her talent brought her far from week one to the last. Her victory was almost predicted by everyone, but watching her every episode until she snatched the Mirrorball was extremely eventful.

9. Jordan Fisher, Season 25

Given his previous and compelling experience in dance and live theater, Jordan Fisher’s triumph might be controversial for some. Nonetheless, if we’re setting quality of performance as criteria, he is undeniably the victor. From his very first dance in the ballroom, Fisher proved that he deserved to win, and all we can do is agree.

8. Charli D’Amelio, Season 31

When fans found out that Charli D’Amelio would join the show, reactions were mixed. The TikTok sensation received a huge amount of criticism for having a competitive amount of dance training as a kid. Nonetheless, D’Amelio was every inch a frontrunner in season 31. Coupling her technical excellence with her captivating charisma, it’s no wonder she was hailed the winner of the show.

7. Apolo Anton Ohno, Season 4

Many celebrities on the show seem to have it in their journey to win a Mirrorball, and speed skater Apolo Anton Ohno was one. All season long, he consistently out danced his competitors with his killer moves. He managed to get a perfect score in week five, and proved that his success wasn’t all luck when he stood out during the All-Star season 15.

6. Nicole Scherzinger, Season 10

The DWTS season 10 lineup was a fierce one, but that didn’t stop Nicole Scherzinger from being the champion. Her experience as the lead singer of The Pussycat Dolls transcended to the ballroom floor, making Scherzinger a shoo-in. The Mirrorball is, for sure, one remarkable trophy alongside her gold and platinum records.

5. Amber Riley, Season 17

It would absolutely be hard for Glee fans to root for other contestants knowing that Amber Riley was among the roster. The good thing is, Riley wasn’t one to waste everyone’s time. She’s fabulously performed intricate dance routines per week, and that’s despite her uncompromising knee pain since day one.

4. Rumer Willis, Season 20

With some fans believing that nepotism is an unfair advantage, Rumer Willis wasn’t exactly an immediate fan-favorite in season 20. However, soon after she stepped in the ballroom, people just couldn’t help but watch in awe. There’s no denying —her showdown against musician Riker Lynch remains the most tensioned battle for victory in the history of DWTS.

In season 19, most fans thought that actress Janel Parrish had the best shot at winning the Mirrorball. Yet, one couldn’t possibly complain when Alfonso Ribeiro became the champion. His warm and infectious personality alongside his compelling and slick moves ultimately led to The Fresh Prince alum’s victory.

2. Meryl Davis, Season 18

With an Olympic glory under her belt, it’s fair to root for Meryl Davis from the start of the competition. Her grace, agility, and strength made her a shoo-in to win the show, but she also managed to go beyond people’s expectations. Not to mention, her chemistry with Maks Chmerkovskiy was undeniable.

1. Nyle DiMarco, Season 22

A lot of celebrities may have won DWTS, but Nyle DiMarco is the best among them all. As a deaf contestant, DiMarco conquered the ballroom with sensational grit and unbelievable commitment. Throughout the season, he relied on vibrations and beats to memorize the routine. Indeed, he wasn’t the most excellent in terms of technicality, but his inspirational story makes him fans’ no-brainer pick.
