America’s Got Talent has shared an early release audition from this Tuesday’s upcoming new episode of Season 20, and it features a familiar face. Vanderpump Rules star Tom Sandoval can be seen taking the stage with his band, the Most Extras, in the hope of impressing the show’s judges.

Tom Sandoval Auditions for AGT in Early Release Clip

Tom Sandoval’s presence on the AGT stage might come as a surprise to some viewers, but we had a hint that he would be auditioning earlier in the season when observant fans spotted him in a shot from backstage.

Before his performance, Sandoval shared that he felt “a lot of pressure,” due to the hate he’s received following his cheating scandal. He told the judges that his band was “the only thing that kept me going” through the backlash.

As the band was preparing to perform, judge Sofia Vergara questioned why he was so hated, to which fellow judge Howie Mandel informed her, “He slept with his girlfriend’s best friend.” Mel B could be heard saying, “No wonder nobody likes him.” However, Simon Cowell said he was “not interested” in the scandal.

For their audition, Sandoval and his band performed a cover of “Take On Me” by A-ha. They didn’t do anything particularly new or different with the song, but it was still a pretty good performance. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait until Tuesday’s episode airs to find out what the judges thought of the audition.

This Isn’t Sandoval’s First Talent Show

This isn’t the first time Tom Sandoval has performed on a TV talent show. In 2023, he appeared on Season 10 of The Masked Singer as Diver. In fact, he famously gave away his participation in the season by wearing his “Don’t Talk to Me” hoodie off the set.

Sandoval appeared in two episodes of the show before being eliminated, after performing covers of “Any Way You Want It” by Journey and “I Ain’t Worried” by OneRepublic. Only panelists Ken Jeong and Jenny McCarthy were correct in guessing his identity.

What do you think about Sandoval auditioning for AGT? Do you want to see him and his band go further in the competition? Let us know in the comments below, and be sure to tune in to the new episode Tuesday night at 8/7c on NBC.
