James Dupré Caused Coach To Fall Out Of His Chair During Blind Audition

As soon as James started singing, all of the coaches were hooked. When it comes to country artists, all eyes are usually on Blake as the audience waits for him to hit his button. Blake’s hand hovered over the button at the beginning of the song. At that moment, Gwen Stefani, Adam Levine and Pharrell Williams all hit their buttons. It all happened so quickly that Blake just sat there hysterically laughing.

While the three coaches got to watch James command the stage, Blake listening intently. Finally, Blake turned his chair, making this one remarkable four-chair turn. Each coach made a case as to why James should choose to be on their temas. But, nobody wanted to coach him more than Adam. James chose to be on Team Adam which caused him to get out of his chair and fall on the floor in a dramatic fashion.

As for what he has been doing amid the pandemic to keep busy, James has been on daddy duty. “I’ve been staying home in Nashville mostly, where I unexpectedly became a stay-at-home dad at the beginning of quarantine,” he said in an interview. “Our baby girl, Rellie, was 6 months old at the time, so that’s been a fun distraction from all the craziness. That, and working on finishing up the new album, has kept me busy and looking forward to the future.”
