The Voice: What Did Blake Shelton Mean By Saying Gwen Stefani Was Having Twins?
Reading Time: 2 minutes
Blake Shelton tried an interesting tactic on The Voice this week. Not only did he name-drop his fiancée Gwen Stefani, but he also joked that she was giving birth.
It was all part of Blake’s attempt to get contestant Pia Renee on his team for Season 20. Read on to find out what Blake said about Gwen during his unusual pitch.
Blake Shelton Says Gwen Stefani Is Having Twins
For her audition, Pia Renee sang Stevie Wonder’s “Master Blaster.” Both Blake and fellow coach John Legend turned around for her performance. When asked about her musical influences, Pia said, “Reggae has my heart.”

When John said he heard Rahsaan Patterson in Pia’s performance, Kelly asked Blake if he knew who that was. “That’s Old Man Patterson’s boy,” he said, apparently not knowing.
“To say that I don’t know anything about the music that she’s performing,” Blake said, “would kind of disqualify the fact that, who knows, even by the time this airs, Gwen Stefani — she could even be my wife by then.”
“She’s delivering twins right now,” Blake continued. “She’s pushing them out. But I’m here working.”
Did Pia Join Blake’s Team On ‘The Voice’?
“I have no idea what this man is talking about,” John said of Blake’s comments, to which Blake replied, “I’m talking about Gwen Stefani and her stamp on reggae, ska music, and how much I’ve grown to love it.”

“Wouldn’t it be great if she were here to coach you?” John said in return. Since Gwen Stefani is sitting this season out, that’s not an option. John pointed out, “Gwen is great, but Blake is not Gwen.”
Ultimately, Blake’s pitch apparently didn’t work, because Pia chose to join Team Legend. And if you’re wondering, no, Gwen Stefani is not having twins — as far as we know.
