La Voz is in its first season in the US! But coaches Wisin, Alejandra
Guzmán, Luis Fonsi, and Carlos Vives aren’t the only familiar talent on the show. Four former stars fromThe Voice are competing as contestants!
Let’s take a look at which The Voice contestants are appearing on La Voz (US).
Manny appeared on The Voice in Season 9, where he turned four chairs in his Blind Audition. He was soon after eliminated in the Battle Rounds. On La Voz, he turned Wisin and Carlos Vives’s chairs (the only two coaches remaining with spots on their teams), singing “Believer” by Imagine Dragons. He then joined Team Vives.
Génesis was on Team Adam in Season 14. She is from Miami and turned Blake and Adam’s chairs when she sang “Praying” by Kesha. She was eliminated in the Battle Rounds. Génesis returned to the small screen for another chance at fame when she auditioned for La Voz. She sang “It’s a Man’s World” this time around and turned three chairs, joining Alejandra Guzmán’s team.
Johnny was a four-chair turner in his Blind Audition for The Voice on Season 14. He sang “Preciosa” in Spanish, which was composed by fellow Puerto Rican Rafael Hernández Marín. His audition even warranted a block on Kelly from Adam. He then joined Team Alicia and made it all the way to the Live Playoffs before being eliminated. So now, on La Voz, he seems to have the best chance of any of the former contestants on The Voice. He turned three chairs in that audition, joining Team Wisin.
Ivonne was on The Voice in Season 9, when she was only 17 years old. She turned Gwen and Pharrell’s chairs in her Blind Audition and joined Team Pharrell. She lost her Battle, but was stolen by Blake. On Team Blake, she won her Knockout, then got eliminated in the Live Playoffs. Joining La Voz, she hoped to have a different outcome. Ivonne turned all four chairs in her Blind Audition, choosing Alejandra Guzmán as her coach. But unfortunately, she was eliminated in the Battle Rounds of the show.
