‘The Voice’ Recap: Camila Cabello Steals Blake Shelton’s Artist in the Knockouts

The Voice Season 22 returned on Tuesday night for another round of three-way Knockouts. During tonight’s episode, Camila Cabello stole Blake Shelton’s artist Kate Kalvach after fighting over her with fellow coach John Legend.
Camila Cabello Steals Kate Kalvach from Team Blake
During Tuesday’s episode, Blake Shelton put Jay Allen, Kate Kalvach, and Bryce Leatherwood against each other in a three-way Knockout. Kate gave a particularly strong performance of “Anyone” by Justin Bieber, standing out as a pop artist.
Even Shelton admitted that Jay and Bryce’s performances had some issues. In Jay’s case, he got emotional because he was singing the song “Pray for You” by Matt Stell to his fiancée, who was in the audience. However, the coach made a surprising decision when he chose to “roll the dice” and keep Bryce on his team after the singer’s performance of “Colder Weather” by Zac Brown Band.
As Shelton explained, Bryce is “as country as they get,” and he knows how to work with him. As John Legend speculated later, it’s very likely that Shelton expected Kate to be stolen by one of the other coaches. And that’s exactly what happened when both Cabello and Legend hit their buttons.
Cabello went hard in her bid to get Kate on her team, even asking her at one point, “Kate, will you marry me?” Although Kate explained that she’s already married, she did choose to join Cabello’s team.

John Legend Keeps Omar Jose Cardona on His Team
Legend also faced a tough decision in Tuesday night’s episode, as he put Ian Harrison, Omar Jose Cardona, and Morgan Taylor together in a Knockout on his team. Although Morgan gave a unique performance of “I Got You (I Feel Good)” by James Brown, it was Omar who emerged victorious.
Omar performed “Radioactive” by Imagine Dragons, which was an appropriate choice, because Cabello said it sounded like he had a dragon inside of him. She made sure to add that he knows how to tame it. Legend choose to keep that dragon on his team, as Omar is headed to the live shows.
The Voice Season 22 will return next Monday night at 8/7c on NBC for another round of Knockouts. John Legend still has his steal available, so it will be interesting to see which artist he chooses to add to his team.
