‘The Voice’ Recap: Battle Rounds Continue With Impressive Team Niall Performance, John Legend Steal
Reading Time: 3 minutes
The Voice Battle Rounds are officially in full swing. Tonight, the show returned to NBC for the third part of this round. There were multiple moments you don’t want to miss, an impressive Team Niall performance, John Legend steal, and more.
Nini Iris Stuns in Team Niall Battle
The first battle of the night featured Team Niall members Nini Iris and Sophia Hoffman. The performers earned a Four-Chair and Two-Chair turn respectively in their The Voice auditions. Following the performance, coaches admitted that this battle didn’t feel very battle-like. Instead, it was like two friends were performing the song together, with impressive harmonies.
Although the coaches described this performance as fun, each singer’s ability truly shined through. They were able to bring themselves up for their portions and pull themselves back well for the others leading part. If I were Horan, I would pick Nini. Luckily, Horan agreed with my opinion, he picked Nini to continue into the Knockouts.
Once Sophia walked off the stage, a cutaway shot featuring John Legend came on. The R&B singer admitted that he considered hitting his steal for Sophia, but ultimately chose not to.
Team Gwen Crushes a Difficult Song
The next battle of the episode featured Team Gwen members Calla Prejean and Chechi Sarai. For those who may not remember, Chechi was a Four-Chair turn and Calla was a One-Chair turn, due to the fact that she was the final Team Gwen member.
Their battle, to “Til I Love Again” by Lady Gaga showed off both singers vocal ranges. The coaches all commented on how perfect the vocals were for Stefani’s song pick. According to them, this song is extremely hard to do correctly. In the end, Stefani picked Chechi as the winner of the battle.
John Legend Hits Steal Button For Team Reba Member
The episode concluded with the final battle of the evening, between Team Reba members Mac Royals and Rachele Nguyen. If you forgot, Mac earned a Four-Chair turn, while Rachele only turned McEntire’s chair. For the duet, McEntire picked the song “How Deep is Your Love” by The Beegees.
Although McEntire picked this song because it suits the R&B side of these singers, Rachele stood out more than Mac. In his audition, Mac showed off his smooth vocals and they were shown here too, but this song choice was just not for him. McEntire picked Rachele as the winner of their battle. Luckily, Mac’s time on the series isn’t over. Right away, Legend hit his steal for the singer.
The Voice Season 24 Battle Rounds continue on Monday, October 30 on NBC at 8 p.m. ET. Be sure to tune in if you want to know which artists are going into the Knockout Rounds.
