Once the devastating news broke, Tay’s brother Aviram Amar posted several tributes to her on Instagram. He wrote a heartfelt caption for a throwback video of the pair singing. Aviram also took to his Instagram stories to express his grief during this difficult time.
“My Tay, I do not have many words at the moment and I do not digest so much and do not know what is happening I have never imagined in my worst dreams that this day will come,” he wrote.
Tay competed on The Voice Israel in 2014 at the age of 16. For her audition, she sang “Reckoning Song” by Asaf Avidan. She got a four chair turn from all of the coaches. Tay ultimately decided to be on Aviv Geffen’s team. She soared through the competition proving her vocal prowess and was named the runner-up.
A couple of years later, Tay competed in The Next Eurovision Star. She made it all the way to the semi-finals after the judges predicted she would win the competition. Her voice was even compared to Ariana Grande. In between competing on talent shows, Tay released the song “Lost It All” in 2017. The Next Eurovision Star Israel posted a tribute to Tay on their Instagram account.
In 2020, Tay released her original song called “Papa’s Bitch.” She continued to post covers and photos up until her death. Her very last post on Instagram was a photo with her dog on August 2. The comments section on the post is now full of condolences and broken heart emojis.
