Ian Flanigan and Blake Shelton Deliver Stellar Duet on ‘The Voice’

Any excuse to have Shelton up on the stage to perform is a huge win for The Voice. The fact that Ian who was so unforgettable last season got to collaborate with his coach is so awesome. This is what The Voice is all about, making connections and becoming a star.

The performance started out with Ian and Shelton standing under dim blue lights. Smoke raised from the floor as The Voice Season 19 standout started singing with his soothing tone. Last year, Shelton commented that Flanigan’s voice sounds like he swallowed broken glass. He meant this in the best way possible as Ian is now conquering both the country and rock genres with his raspy voice.

When their voices melted together, Shelton and Ian had the most perfect harmonies. The production during this performance was a total vibe and the songwriting is even better. Ian may have just earned himself a ticket to some of country music’s biggest award shows with this song and performance.

“‘Grow Up’ is about living it up, no matter what age you are. Coming out of the wild year that was 2020, I feel this song is a great reminder of the feeling I always get from live shows, touring, and kickin’ it during the summer” Ian wrote on YouTube. “I hope this song brings some of that ‘forever young’ vibe to everyone listening.”
