CeeLo Green on 'The Voice' 2026

The Voice Fans Object to CeeLo Green in Season 29

During Season 29 of The Voice, CeeLo Green has been serving as a Mega Mentor for Adam Levine and John Legend’s teams during the Knockouts. Earlier this week, a fan on Reddit posted that they were “really disappointed” by his involvement.

The poster told fellow fans to look up “CeeLo Green controversy,” which is likely referring to the fact that Green was accused of sexual battery in 2012 by a woman who claimed she couldn’t remember the time between dining with the singer and waking up naked in his bed.

According to The Guardian, no rape charges were filed against Green due to a lack of evidence. However, he pleaded no contest to a felony count of supplying ecstasy and was sentenced to three years probation and 45 days of community service.

In 2014, Green caused further controversy by posting on X (formerly Twitter), “People who have really been raped REMEMBER!!!” He also wrote, “If someone is passed out they’re not even WITH you consciously! so WITH Implies consent.” Green later deleted the posts and apologized.

Fans Share Their Thoughts on Green’s Involvement

Other fans of The Voice chimed in on the recent Reddit post about Green’s involvement in the show, with one user writing, “It’s disgusting that they are giving him a platform, and that Adam remains good friends with him.”

Another fan wrote, “I don’t watch the show anymore because of his involvement.” Someone else suggested, “Maybe we should all write to the producers and let them know how we feel. Making posts on Reddit isn’t going to change anything, sadly.”

Some fans also wondered if coach Kelly Clarkson chose not to work with Green this season due to his controversies, as her Mega Mentor for the Knockouts is former coach Michael Bublé. However, others pointed out that it was possibly due to Clarkson’s schedule following the death of her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock.
