‘The Voice’ Coaches Taunt Nick Jonas for Upcoming Billboard Hosting Gig

Reading Time: 2 minutes
Nick Jonas is more than excited to host Sunday’s Billboard Music Awards. He decided to take matters into his own hands and show up to The Voice with an award for the best host. This is Jonas’s first time ever hosting the show, but he is confident enough that he will do an award-winning job.
Nick Jonas Thinks His Billboard Hosting Job is Worthy of an Award
When The Voice came back from a commercial break before Masked Wolf’s performance, Jonas had an award in his hand. Carson Daly was curious what exactly the award was for.
“It’s my award for best host ever at the Billboard Music Awards” Jonas confessed.
Blake Shelton decided to roast Jonas for not having a Grammy Award and having to make his own award instead. The best part about this segment is the very visible post-it note attached to the award that says “Best Host Ever.”
“Why is it written on a post-it in your handwriting?” John Legend questioned.
It’s pretty hilarious that Jonas decided to pull this stunt sitting right next to Kelly Clarkson who hosted the show three times. Last year, she had eight outfit changes throughout the show and looked gorgeous in everything she put on. While we will miss Clarkson’s extravagant opening numbers, Jonas will absolutely put on a great show.
“I feel like if they were handing out best host awards for the Billboard’s I would have one by now” Clarkson commented.
But in all seriousness, she acknowledges that Jonas is going to slay his awards show hosting gig. She gave him the proper send off, vocal air horns, like only she knows how.
Just as Daly was about to announce Masked Wolf’s performance, Shelton was heard in the background asking if the awards show is called “The Billiards.” This behavior is typical of Shelton.
Catch Jonas hosting The 2021 Billboard Music Awards live from Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater on NBC at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT this Sunday.
