With health officials advising against large gatherings, many television shows have put production on hold or eliminated their live studio audiences. American Idol will go on, not as planned but with a little improvising.
How Will ‘American Idol’ Live Happen During Coronavirus?
Katy Perry Just announced how it will and we are relieved.
In the caption she wrote, “How will ‘American Idol’ continue? I’ll be judging from California, @LionelRichie from LA, @LukeBryan & @mrBobbyBones in Nashville. @RyanSeacrest will host from Cali! Contestants perform at their house! America will VOTE from HOME and choose a WINNER!”

This sounds easy but it will be the first time in the history of American Idol or for that matter any talent show that it will be conducted entirely off the studio. No fancy lights, no options of auto-tune, and no live audience cheering but hey! If any show can do it and lead the path for others to follow, it is American Idol. Also, we might get cameos from Orlando Bloom, a girl can dream, right?
That said, who remembers Katy’s sass here? Finally her wish is finally coming true.
Katy Perry’s Coronavirus Scare
Just after her first live performance of “Never Worn White” on the Australian show The Project, Katy was put into a scary situation when her Sydney hotel went into a 24-hour quarantine. The Park Hyatt Hotel where she was staying reportedly went under quarantine after two of the members of The Universal Music team had contracted the virus. It is worth mentioning that Tom Hanks who had just recent to Katy’s quarantine had announced that he had contracted coronavirus. He too had stayed at that same hotel just a few days earlier with his wife, Rita Wilson.
