The Reason Nikki Bella Picked Her Wedding Dress 30 Minutes Before the Ceremony

While most brides already picked the perfect wedding dress months before walking down the aisle, the same cannot be said about Nikki Bella. The Dancing With The Stars alum revealed that picking her dress was a last-minute decision before getting married to professional dancer Artem Chigvintsev.
Her Wedding Dress Was Picked Just 30 Minutes Before Walking Down The Aisle
Bella tied the knot with Chigvintsev last August in a gorgeous ceremony held in Paris, France. The wedding was held in front of a small group of friends and family members including their two-year-old son Matteo.
Her dream wedding came after three years of dating the DWTS pro. Which is why it may come as a surprise for the fans to know that the wedding dress was picked just 30 minutes before the ceremony started.
“People are going to think I’m crazy, but I didn’t choose my ceremony dress until 30 minutes before I walked down the aisle. My poor mother!” The former wrestler said.
Bella revealed that she was initially torn between four potential wedding day looks which caused the late decision. The America’s Got Talent: Extreme judge is set on showcasing her wedding dresses in the upcoming four-part E! special event series Nikki Bella Says I Do. One of her dresses in particular was revealed to have been bought in 2018 after her engagement to John Cena.
In the end, Bella chose authenticity over everything else, opting for a look befitting of her true self. Her advice for choosing a dress is to choose the one that makes you feel incredible that also exudes elegance.
The Couple Delayed Their Wedding Plans
The former DWTS pair are responsible parents who prioritized their child first before having an official wedding ceremony. They were engaged since late 2019 and it took more than two years for them to tie the knot.
Another reason their wedding plans got delayed was because the couple didn’t want the ceremony to be done with masks. Chigvintsev revealed that they were waiting for the pandemic to get better before having their wedding. They also had admitted that they wanted to ensure Chigvintsev’s family could be attendance for their important day.
“It’s so funny because I always picked Thanksgiving because we’re in the entertainment industry,” Nikki said about the original wedding plans. “I’m like, ‘OK, Dancing With the Stars is done, in Hollywood, no one ever works Thanksgiving weekend.’ And for Artem, he’s just mainly like, ‘I just want my parents there.'”
Chigvintsev was born in Russia and moved to the United States in 2003 to pursue his love of dance. Since his family is in Russia, travel to the U.S. while Covid-19 variants continue to increase would be difficult. Once his family was able to travel again, the couple set their wedding date in stone.
