‘The Masked Singer’ Reveals Two New Costumes Ahead of Season 8
Reading Time: 2 minutes
The Masked Singer Season 8 premiere is quickly approaching, and the show has revealed two more costumes — Venus Fly Trap and Sir Bug a Boo. These two characters definitely don’t seem cute and cuddly.
The Masked Singer Reveals Two New Costumes
The Venus Fly Trap costume features a plant with a giant head inside a dirty-looking pot. The mouth is open and catching a fly. According to The Wrap, this is the tallest costume in the show’s history. The Masked Singer posted an “X-ray” of the character on social media, showing a fly as a clue.
Then there’s Sir Bug a Boo, which might be one of the scariest-looking costumes in the show’s history. The character is bright green, with a cat’s face and sharp teeth. They have long blue nails and appear to have four legs in addition to their two arms. They’re wearing a colorful costume with a bent top hat.
Fans on Twitter had a few comments about Sir Bug a Boo, with one saying the show missed the opportunity to name the character “Mad Catter.” Another user suggested that their name should instead be “Nightmare Fuel.”

The New Season Premieres September 21
The Masked Singer previously revealed two other costumes — Bride and Avocado. Bride is actually a pink dragon wearing a wedding dress, while Avocado is exactly what you’d expect, complete with a smiling face on the pit.
Although it hasn’t been officially revealed yet, one other costume we can probably expect to see this season is Hummingbird. This character is suspected to be NFL star Tom Brady. Whether or not the rumor is true, the show seems to be using it to draw viewers, with posts on social media playing into the idea.
The Masked Singer Season 8 will premiere on FOX Wednesday, September 21, at 8/7c. All four panelists (Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong, and Nicole Scherzinger) will return to the show to guess which celebrities are under the costumes.
