The Masked Singer is set to return to FOX following their controversial seventh season. Merely days before the conclusion season seven, the network announced their intent to continue. The Masked Singer will return for the 2022-2023 season.

On May 16, The Masked Singer shared they have been renewed for another season via social media. While the series didn’t provide any details on what the upcoming season would look like, fans are still excited to hear the news.

America’s favorite celebrity guessing game has a history of being one of the most watched Wednesday night programs on FOX. This season has been just as successful as the last, drawing in an average viewership of 4.082 million per episode. It’s clear that FOX expects the series to maintain their high viewership into the 2022-2023 season.

This series has quickly become one of America’s favorite competition shows on television. The guessing game has brought in over 100 disguised celebrities since it’s premiere in 2019. Since the series has quickly taken off, it’s renewal is no surprise.

The Masked Singer wraps up their seventh season on Wednesday, May 18. This season made waves with the involvement of Donald Trump’s former lawyer Rudy Giuliani, who was was revealed as the Jack in the Box. His involvement in the series leaked soon before the series premiere. The leak prompted the rumor that judges Ken Jeong and Robin Thicke walked off set in protest.

The Masked Singer Prepares for The Most Surprising Series Yet

The Masked Singer fans are overjoyed to see another round of celebrities in disguise for the upcoming season. Many have taken to social media to share their excitement for the series renewal.

While there has been no confirmation of a premiere date, executive producer Craig Plestis and panelist Robin Thicke confirmed that the next season is already in pre-production.

“It’s a challenge to outdo ourselves and to come up with some things that are going to sparkle and get America excited,” executive producer Craig Plestis said. “I think there’s some ideas that we’re playing with with the network that are going to be super exciting and the first time that we ever see something.”

Differing from the past, the eighth season may have a different location. While it is still up in the air, FOX hopes to take The Masked Singer out of Los Angeles in the upcoming season. The network noted that Las Vegas is of their options for the new location.
