The show’s Twitter account posted on Wednesday that they won the award, adding that they’re “excited to be recognized alongside the other incredible winners.” The Gracies are given out each year by the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation.
An awards ceremony for the 47th Annual Gracie Awards is set to take place May 24 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. Other honorees this year include Melissa McCarthy, Elle Fanning, and Tamron Hall. The event recognizes women’s contributions to television, radio, and digital media.
“Throughout this past year we have seen a number of remarkable projects by and about inspirational women,” Becky Brooks, AWMF president, said in a press release. “We are honored to shine a spotlight on these women, whose stories have driven cultural awareness, offered entertainment that has made us laugh, cry, and everything in between.”
The Talk Show Has Been Nominated for Several Awards
The Kelly Clarkson Show has been airing since September of 2019. In addition to celebrity interviews and inspiring stories, Clarkson brings the fun to each episode with competitive games and her signature “Kellyoke” covers.
In less than three years on the air, the show has won six Daytime Emmy Awards, including one for Outstanding Talk Show Entertainment. Clarkson also won Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host in both 2020 and 2021.
The talk show has also been nominated for three Critics’ Choice Television Awards, as well as two People’s Choice Awards. Clarkson herself has won an Iris Award for Excellence in Performance, and the show’s hair and makeup teams have won at the Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild Awards.
