More than eight years after their break-up in 2013, the Jonas Brothers are reflecting on their time apart in a new interview. According to them, their bond is stronger than ever as they embark on the next chapter.
The Jonas Brothers Reflect on Their 2013 Break-Up
In 2013, the Jonas Brothers shocked fans when they canceled their upcoming tour two days before it was scheduled to begin and announced their break-up, citing a “deep rift” in the band. After a hiatus of several years, the brothers reunited in 2019.
“Over the years, you start to take advantage of the [sibling] relationship because it’s a safe space,” Joe Jonas explained to People, reflecting on the band’s break-up. “You feel like you can say anything, and that can be damaging.”
Kevin shared that the band’s time apart “allowed us to understand who we were as people.” Nick and Joe met their wives (Priyanka Chopra and Sophie Turner) during that time. Nick said that the brothers’ partners “helped us all to be better versions of ourselves.”

The Band Says They’re Better Than Ever
Jonas Brothers fans everywhere are happy to hear that this band has no plan of breaking up in the near future. Instead, the siblings are closer than ever to one another.
“We’re in a better spot now than we’ve ever been,” Nick told the magazine, “and it’s a really fun season of discovering what the next chapter is going to look like.”
The Jonas Brothers just performed a Las Vegas residency earlier this month at the Park MGM’s Dolby Live theater. They also teased that new music on the way to follow up their 2019 comeback album Happiness Begins.
“We did record a lot of music before and through the pandemic, but then we lived our life for a while,” Kevin shared with People. Nick called it “some of our favorite stuff we’ve ever done.”
Meanwhile, Nick and Priyanka recently welcomed their first child together, and Joe is expecting his second child with Sophie. You can also catch Nick on the new NBC show Dancing With Myself on Tuesday nights.
