The Internet Isn’t Too Pleased With Last Night’s ‘AGT’ Results

Last night was the second live results show of AGT Season 13, which meant five more acts were eliminated from the show. And it looks like the internet wasn’t too happy about some of the cuts…
Comedic soundmakers Yumbo Dump, animal act The Savitsky Cats, ballroom dancers Quin and Misha, horror magician The Sacred Riana, and multimedia act Front Pictures were all sent home during last night’s show, while the other seven acts got to stay for another round.
Of course, every act has their supporters, so someone will always be disappointed no matter what the results are. However, fans were particularly riled up about the eliminations of Riana and front Pictures, and many of them took to Twitter to voice their displeasure.
So let’s recap the most recent #AGTResults show… we lost The Sacred Riana, who had more social media activity and youtube views that ANY act and then Front Pictures who narrowly lost the save vote. And they wonder why ratings are down this year? Really? #AGT

Fans of both acts praised their uniqueness and appreciated the fun and originality they brought to the show in comparison to some of the other acts, particularly the singers (all of whom moved forward this week, taking up four of the seven spots up for grabs in the semi-finals).
So once again another ORIGINAL act that nobody’s seen on #AGT before was sent home, over the same singers/unoriginal acts who ALWAYS get sent through to the finals. The judges on @AGT do not care what America wants to see. There are a million shows for singers and dancers, we want to see something we can’t see anywhere else like Front Pictures! That’s why they ALMOST won the Dunkin Save! #AGT #AGTResults

Front Picture was doing performances worthy of spending money to see live. I really hope they keep it up & continue to do amazing things. Last night had me on edge. They really deserved to go through and I’m disappointed they didn’t get to. 🙁 #AGT

Despite these disappointing eliminations, many Riana and Front Pictures fans are ready to see more from them outside of AGT.
Sacred Riana could definitely pull off an entire Vegas act. Start a touring act, put it out there, and I’ll buy tickets! That girl is incredible and deserves praise! #AGT

And this is really what AGT is all about. The show is a ratings giant and therefore a fantastic platform for the contestants to build their fanbases and get scouted for other opportunities. It’s unfortunate that many of the more quirky variety acts don’t get as many votes due to having a more niche appeal than some of the other acts, but they often book lots of shows and performances after their time on AGT. So if your favorite act is eliminated but you still want to see more from them, check to see if they have a show date near you!
America’s Got Talent returns next Tuesday at 8/7c on NBC.
