The Best ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ Performances on Talent Shows — Can Anyone Beat Adam Lambert?
Reading Time: 2 minutes
We’ve seen some amazing renditions of “Bohemian Rhapsody” on talent shows, but can anybody beat Queen’s new lead singer Adam Lambert? Watch each rendition and you be the judge.
Nobody could even sing Queen music like Freddie Mercury, but since Adam Lambert has gone on to collaborate with the band since American Idol, let’s compare his version to other singers. Here are five talent show contestants singing “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen.
Adam Lambert’s Rendition on Various Talent Shows
Before diving into this comparison, let’s look back at Lambert’s rendition of “Bohemian Rhapsody.” He may not have been America’s next Idol, but he was Queen’s next lead singer.
1. American Idol
Lambert showed off his beautiful tone in his inaugural performance of this tune. Paula Abdul was smiling throughout the entire performance.
2. X Factor UK
A few years later, Lambert took the X Factor UK stage to sing this tune with Saara Aalto. This time, his confidence totally radiated throughout the auditorium, especially as he went into his high register.
3. Adam Lambert and Queen Live Concert in Japan
It’s only right that we look at Lambert performing with Queen before moving on to other talent show contestants. Alongside the band, Lambert performs back and forth with a video of the late Freddie Mercury. Their renditions are almost exactly the same.
Other Talent Show Contestants Singing “Bohemian Rhapsody”
4. Cristina Ramos
Cristina was the dictionary definition of a shocking audition on AGT: The Champions. Her opera singing began slow, but quickly transitioned into a full blown rock and roll performance of “Bohemian Rhapsody.” She had a larger than life stage presence and insanely beautiful vocal range.
5. Angelina Jordan
Angelina Jordan also performed a unique version of the tune on AGT: The Champions. The Amy Winehouse-like singer put a twist on this tune, incorporating her low register and various vocal runs. She slowed down the tune quite a bit, but it was still absolutely stunning.
6. Cappella
Cappella brought “Bohemian Rhapsody” to another level by singing it as a full choir on Georgia’s Got Talent. Their performance is exhilarating with their fun choreography and well balanced harmonies.
7. Jeff Gutt X
Jeff Gutt adds a pop punk feel and tons of rasp to this beloved song. This is an extremely powerful rendition of this song. Jeff went on to finish as runner up of The X Factor season two. I would love to see a collaboration between Jeff and Lambert.
I’ve seen Adam Lambert with Queen live a few times, including Sunday in Bologna and I’m blown away by the quality of this guy’s voice! There is no other like him! The gang chose him not by chance and called him a Gift from God. He performed Puccini’s ‘Nessun Dorma’ and I just died at the barrier…
Adam is a phenomenal singer, he sings Queen songs in his own way and yet close enough to the original for the audience to sing along with. He is an absolutely perfect performer!
Angelina Jordan!!!!! It’s a velvet Quinn
Hands down Angelina Jordans’ unique rendition is the best.
For the most original and surprising cover of this song, it’s hands down Angelina Jordan! Her arrangement of the song and her vocals totally wowed the judges and the audience. When Queen saw her performance, they tweeted out, “Wow, what a rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody!” Not bad for a 13 year old music prodigy!
Angelina Jordan is the best ❤️
16-year-old Angelina Jordan. Her future is bright.
All of these singers were fabulous. Only Jeff was truly comparable to Adam. The others were of different levels: a female voice, A Choir of voices.
Disappointed that you didn’t include PENTONX’s rendition. I find it truly comparable and maybe a real threat to Adam’s star.ģ
The OG is Ryan Farrar.
