The Voice has shared an early release video from the Season 23 Battles, which are set to begin next Monday night. In the new clip, Team Chance members Manasseh Samone and Sorelle battle it out with a stunning rendition of a classic Adele anthem.
Team Chance Battles in The Voice Early Release
Manasseh auditioned for Season 23 with a cover of “Rise Up” by Andra Day, turning Chance the Rapper’s chair and automatically joining his team. Later, sister trio Sorelle joined Chance’s team after turning two chairs with their audition to Queen’s “Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy.”
Now, Manasseh and Sorelle are going up against each other in a Battle, performing “Someone Like You” by Adele. The singers definitely made this a difficult decision for their coach. While Sorelle delivered some incredible harmonies, Manasseh held her own with a powerhouse solo performance.
The coaches were clearly impressed by the Battle, as all four of them gave the singers a standing ovation, while Chance proudly exclaimed, “That’s my team!” Clarkson gave him props for his arrangement of the song.

What Did the Coaches Think of the Battle?
Clarkson praised Sorelle’s “intricate harmonies” and told Manasseh that she’s “the reason why this show exists.” She seemed to be leaning toward Manasseh as the winner of the Battle.
Shelton admitted that he wasn’t sure how the singers would blend together at first, but he added, “Now I never want you guys to not sing together. All of you.” He complimented Sorelle’s performance, saying it was “almost hard to believe that was live.”
Niall agreed, saying it sound “like a record” and complimenting Sorelle’s “wall of harmonies.” He said he would lean toward choosing Sorelle as the winners of the Battle.
The singers’ coach Chance the Rapper said they gave a “masterful performance” and added that he had a “tough decision” to make. We’ll have to wait until Monday night’s show at 8/7c on NBC to find out who won the Battle.
