In this roller coaster ride of emotion of an episode of The Talent Recap Show, Mel and I look back on this week in American Idol. We finally got to see more than five seconds of the singer’s performances and then they dueted with some celebrity singers most of which we’d never heard of before.

This week American Idol finally shone with the potential it’s had all along. This was easily the best episode thanks to some great performances and a little more effort on the part of the production team. It wasn’t all sunshine and unicorns though. Poor Brandon Diaz was eliminated after he was upstaged singing Lionel Richie’s Hello by Lionel Richie. Hard to come back from that, hermano. And of course, Katy Perry showed her need for affection by shamelessly flirting with rock god Cade Foehner. Get a grip, Kate.

We discuss our top three favorite performances and the ongoing fascination we all have with Catie Turner. Could it be possible that she’s going to win the whole damn thing? It’s definitely a possibility.
