‘Stranger Things’ Star Millie Bobby Brown To Release Debut Novel “Nineteen Steps”

Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown may have already sealed multiple milestones at a young age, but there’s no stopping her from achieving too many. This year, the teen actress will be publishing her first ever historical novel, Nineteen Steps.
Millie Bobby Brown Announces Debut Novel Nineteen Steps
After landing her role in Netflix’s internationally acclaimed series Stranger Things, Millie Bobby Brown has quickly risen to stardom. And now that she’s proven herself in acting, she’ll have her first book released, titled Nineteen Steps.
Nineteen Steps is a historical novel about an amazing, courageous 18-year-old woman called Nellie Morris, who lives with her family in Bethnal Green, in London’s East End, while the second world war rages on around them. Described to be an “epic story of love, loss and secrets,” Nineteen Steps is a narration about female resilience and human spirit.
“When a tragic accident occurs during an air raid one night, the consequences are catastrophic – and life will never be the same again for Nellie,” she wrote.
Ultimately, the book is set to prove that love and happiness can prevail. On Instagram, Brown revealed that she’ll be releasing Nineteen Steps this fall, specifically on September 12, 2023. The same will be published by HarperCollins imprint William Morrow.
She Says This Book is “Very Personal,” “Close To My Heart”
Nineteen Steps is heavily inspired by Brown’s family history during World War II. It particularly tackles the related experiences of her grandmother, Ruth, who survived the Bethnal Green tube station disaster in the 1940s.
“Writing Nineteen Steps has been a really special project for me,” she wrote. “The story is inspired by true events and my own family history.”
According to Brown, Nineteen Steps is very personal and close to her heart. Growing up a listener of her grandmother’s stories, Brown stated that she’s honored to keep her story alive. Fans thus should expect the book to be a mix of “heart-warming and heart-breaking.”
Aside from the novel though, Brown will appear in the upcoming Netflix fantasy film Damsel. She will also be a part of the case of Russo Brothers sci-fi movie The Electric State.
