The Ndlovu Youth Choir’s performance on America’s Got Talent: All-Stars left South Africans and the rest of the globe amazed with their skills. Rock legend Stevie Nicks was among those who loved their performance and even wrote a letter wanting to be a part of their choir.
Stevie Nicks Commented on Ndlovu Youth Choir’s Performance
The Fleetwood Mac singer expressed her outright congratulations to the Ndlovu Youth Choir for their performance on AGT All-Stars. Nick’s loved the choir’s performance so much that she expressed her desire to join them on the letter’s postscript.
The choir from Limpopo, South Africa performed on the AGT: All Stars stage on Monday, January 23, and stunned the crowd and judges. The Ndlovu Youth Choir performed one of their own compositions, “We Will Rise.” All three judges gave them a standing ovation, and the audience applauded loudly.
Judge Howie Mandel deemed the performance worthy of a Golden Buzzer though he didn’t press it. Even long standing judge Simon Cowell couldn’t help but praise the Ndlovu Youth Choir. In the episode, he noted that they’re one of the greatest choirs AGT has ever had. Despite receiving tremendously great feedback from the judges and audience, the Ndlovu Youth Choir was unexpectedly eliminated.
The Ndlovu Youth Choir Responds to Nicks
The Ndlovu Youth Choir sang a version of the Fleetwood Mac singer’s song “Seven Wonders,” in response to her message. The choir gave the already-iconic song an expressive and unique twist that made it cheerful and catchy. They also responded that Nicks is welcome to join the group and collaborate together anytime.
“I envision an awesome collaboration here, starting as a beautiful ballad and moving into something upbeat and inspirational,” A fan said.
Cowell was taken aback when aerialists Power Duo defeated chorale ensemble Ndlovu Youth Choir in the superfan vote. Though their AGT: All Stars journey came to an end, the choir is still signed to a record deal with Syco Music. In addition, the highly probable collaboration with Nicks is a big project they’ll be working on.
Dear Mama @StevieNicks. Thank you for your inspirational letter. It means so much to us. We would love to have you in our choir. You might even know our latest song, ‘Seven Wonders’.
