America’s Got Talent judge Sofia Vergara is being praised for how she handled Spanish interviewer Pablo Motos while appearing on his show El Hormiguero. The actress shut down Motos’ rude comments like a total pro.

Sofia Vergara Shuts Down Spanish Interviewer

Vergara appeared on Motos’ show to promote her new Netflix series Griselda, premiering January 25. The interview was in Spanish, but Mitú broke down some of Vergara’s best comebacks to Motos’ rude comments.

At one point, while she was talking about her role on Modern Family, Motos interrupted her to ask, “How do you say ‘Modern Family’?” Vergara responded, “I say it wrong? Oh, because you speak better English than me? Ah.”

Vergara also pointed out what an accomplished actress she is, asking Motos, “How many Emmy nominations do you have in the United States? How many times did they nominate you at the Golden Globes?” (The answer, for Vergara, is four of each.)

At one point, Motos also questioned whether Vergara is a “natural blonde.” That prompted her to ask Motos, who has gray hair, “You were born with your hair that color? Did you dye it?”

Social Media Is Loving Vergara’s Comebacks

X (formerly known as Twitter) was full of people praising Vergara for her quick comebacks to Motos’ questions. One user posted a photo of Vergara with fellow Colombian star Shakira, writing, “Colombia 2 – España 0.”

Another user wrote, in Spanish, that Vergara was their “favorite person of the week.” Someone else posted a funny photo edit of a scene in The Shining, with Vergara breaking down a door to a terrified-looking Motos.

Someone else posted an image of Vergara on the show, writing in Spanish, “Share this lucky Sofia Vergara so that in 2024 you answer every question perfectly and drag out any annoying people.”
