Spraggan and her girlfriend Emilia Smith tied the knot earlier this month in the UK, and Cowell was on hand to walk her down the aisle alongside her dog Steve. Her song “Other Sides of the Moon” played during the emotional moment.
Cowell told HELLO! that he was “very honored” to be part of Spraggan’s wedding, adding, “I considered it a very big deal. As soon as she asked me, I said yes. On the day I was actually quite nervous because l’ve never been asked before. And then very proud and happy and emotional.”
The Got Talent judge explained to the magazine that it feels like he and Spraggan have “been friends for life,” sharing that “even though it’s been a relatively short time, we do feel like family, and we share a very special bond.”
He called Spraggan and her wife “true soul mates.” adding, “The way they looked at each other during the ceremony and the whole day, was the true definition of happiness and love.”

Cowell, Spraggan Became Friends After the Show
Spraggan competed on the ninth season of The X Factor UK in 2012, before leaving due to illness. Last year, she revealed in her memoir that she actually left after being raped by a hotel employee during the show’s production.
The singer’s rapist was sentenced to 10 years in prison. She said no one from The X Factor checked in on her after the trial. Cowell wasn’t a judge on the show when she competed, but he apologized to her years later, saying he “should’ve been there for you.”
“His apology healed a part of my being that I didn’t know needed healing,” Spraggan told The Sun, adding, “When we first made contact, I didn’t think for one second that all this would blossom into friendship. We ended up talking about life, then he’d call to say: ‘I just wanted to check in on you.’”
