Benicio Bryant gained a ton of popularity after his appearance on season 14 of America’s Got Talent. After making it all the way to the finale, it was clear that his star presence and voice were a hit with millions of people around the world. One person he has always had on his side is Simon Cowell and now, Simon is giving Benicio the opportunity of a lifetime.

Simon Cowell Has Always Been A Fan Of Benicio Bryant

Right from his first audition singing Brandy Carlile’s “The Joke,” Benicio had the crowd and the judges hooked. Simon even said that Benicio reminded him of Harry Styles during his X Factor audition. Harry has gone on to have huge success in the music industry both with One Direction and as a solo artist. Could the same be in the cards for Benicio?

While he did not get Simon’s golden buzzer, he was very clearly still a fan and gave him encouraging feedback each and every week. During the semi-finals, Simon said “Do you know what we love about you? We just saw you as the person that you are.” He even predicted that Benicio would make it to the finals and he was right. Though Benicio did not win the show, he has gained 147,000 Instagram followers and continues to perform at his own shows in front of his adoring fans.

Simon Said Benicio Needs To Take Time To “Find His Sound” With Record Deal

In a recent interview with King5 when asked about Benicio, Simon said “He’s going to get a record contract. He’s doing it the right way — Giving him time to find his sound, the right writers.” Benicio sang a variety of diverse songs on the show so it will be interesting to see what genre his album will be. “He was really special. I really liked him. My heart went out to a lot of contestants you could argue everyone in the top 10 could and should be that good,” he continued. However, the coronavirus pandemic has thrown a slight wrench into these plans. Being unable to travel and record music during this time, Benicio has been quarantining and doing Zoom meetings with record label representatives. The deal is actually a joint deal with Simon’s own label Syco Records and Arista Records, a label owned by Sony Music.

Fans of Benicio already know that he is a songwriter and even performed original music during his time on ‘AGT.’ They are hoping that he uses his own songwriting skills for his new album as well. He often teases new music on Instagram to give fans a taste of what they can look forward to in the future.

It just goes to show you how America’s Got Talent can open so many doors for people just like Benicio.

One thing is for certain, when Benicio’s music under Syco Records does come out, he will have even more people falling in love with his unique voice.
