Simon Cowell Rushes to Help ‘BGT’ Performer Who Fell During Audition

Britain’s Got Talent judge Simon Cowell reportedly rushed to help a performer who fell during an audition for the upcoming season of the show. The performer was apparently part of a dance group who tried out over the weekend.

According to The Sun, a performer who was recently auditioning for BGT fell into the wings during a routine, and Cowell apparently rushed from the judges’ table to the stage to check on them. Medics soon arrived, and a safety curtain was lowered. Filming was then halted.
“It was a real shock when it happened as the lad, who was in his early twenties, was obviously in agony,” a source told the outlet. “Unfortunately the rest of the troupe were so focused, and there were so many of them, that they had completed the routine before they quite realized how badly injured he was. It’s believed he had somehow aggravated an existing injury, but initially it wasn’t clear quite what had happened.”
After filming was halted, Cowell and fellow judge Bruno Tonioli reportedly went backstage to check on the performer, while Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon entertained the crowd. Filming apparently resumed an hour later, and the dance group in question ended up receiving four “yes” votes from the judges.
“The health and safety of our contestants is of the utmost importance,” a BGT spokesperson said. “A member of a dance group sustained an injury whilst auditioning and was seen by medics on set as a precaution.”

The Show Has Finished Filming Auditions
Auditions for BGT Series 17 started filming last month, as judge Bruno Tonioli apparently broke the Golden Buzzer on the first day back. Filming continued into February, and the show has now finished the audition round.
On Monday, the BGT Instagram account posted various photos from the set, including the backstage area and the judges’ table. The caption reads, “That’s curtains down on #BGT Auditions 2024! Can’t wait for you all to see them later this year, you’re in for a TREAT.”
