Comedian Axel Blake received a Golden Buzzer on Britain’s Got Talent during this weekend’s Season 15 premiere. Judge Simon Cowell was tickled by Axel’s hilarious stand-up routine and chose to send him to the live shows.

Axel Blake Earns Golden Buzzer on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’

Axel shared that he auditioned for BGT to show his 12-year-old son that he can do anything if he believes in himself. He told the judges he does property maintenance as his day job, and he offered to redo Cowell’s kitchen.

When Cowell asked Axel for a “good rate,” the comedian pointed to the Golden Buzzer and told him, “Press that, and we’re cool.”

Axel went on to deliver a very funny stand-up comedy routine which touched on everything from public transportation to relationship difficulties. He even joked about having a baby during the pandemic, saying he and his fiancée named their baby daughter Pfizer.

He went on to share the secret to a happy partnership, saying, “Find you a woman that loves you, understands your flaws. Find you a woman that has a good sense of humor. Just make sure those three women don’t find out about each other.”

The Judges Loved Axel’s Audition

All four judges got a kick out of Axel’s comedy, and they gave him a standing ovation when it was over. The crowd loved it too, chanting for the judges to press the Golden Buzzer.

“A comedy superstar is born tonight on that stage,” David Walliams told Axel. “So funny. You made it all seem so effortless. You’ve got a wonderful, likable personality. And everything you said was brilliantly funny and original.”

Cowell followed that up by telling Axel, “I kind of like a granite top. I like a waste disposal unit. I want 25 percent off, and you get this.” He proceeded to hit the Golden Buzzer.

Axel wasn’t the only act to receive the honor during Saturday’s show. Loren Allred, the voice behind the song “Never Enough” from The Greatest Showman, also earned a Golden Buzzer from Amanda Holden. Loren and Axel will both go straight to the live shows.
