Simon Cowell has made no secret that he is grooming his four year old son Eric Cowell to one day take the throne and rule Simon’s empire. I think a lot of people think Simon is kidding. I absolutely think that those are his plans. What if Eric doesn’t want to run a label and be a judge on AGT in 20 years with a very elderly Howie Mandel and Jay Z and Beyonce’s kids? I’m not entirely sure he has much of a say in the matter. At any rate, Simon handed over the reins of Syco to Eric for Unicef’s World Children’s Day.

Unicef’s World Children’s Day is a new holiday of sorts that The UN’s organization UNICEF organizes to celebrate the world’s children. Worldwide children are among the most impoverished and exploited humans on the planet. While that is bad enough, UNICEF feels that children have something to contribute and shouldn’t be marginalized. It puts the focus on a child’s needs and helps to encourage them to do their best. Simon said,

“Unicef’s World Children’s Day is an inspired idea. I can now talk as a very proud Dad about the joy Eric has brought to my life. My dream would be to see him one day running the company I have built. And the most important lesson I have learned is what children teach you. They all have a voice…My perspective on life is slightly different than it used to be. I used to be really competitive, read the ratings and have white knuckles. Now I find it funny. At the end of the day I always go back to Eric, who will hopefully one day be running these shows – one day, please God.”

Eric Cowell Dressed Up As Simon

Plus the picture above of Eric dressed as Simon is incredible. Physically he really looks like Simon. But add the sunglasses, open white shirt, and face of smug satisfaction and you’ve got yourself a winning combination. I hope Eric does take over when Simon dies someday. Probably he’ll get stabbed by a disgruntled contestant. That’s my prediction.
