Siegfried and Joy Are Bringing Magic and Laughter to ‘America’s Got Talent’

One fun act we’re looking forward to this season on America’s Got Talent is Siegfried and Joy, a duo of magicians from Berlin, Germany. They’ll be bringing their funny brand of magic to the stage for Season 17.

The duo’s name, Siegfried and Joy, is obviously a play on the famous magic duo Siegfried and Roy. But it’s fitting that they chose to include “Joy” in their name, because their act is designed to bring smiles to people’s faces.
They call themselves “new superstars of magic.” Their tricks include disappearing acts and levitation, all blended with comedy. The duo is currently on a summer tour, and they recently performed at the Glastonbury Festival in the UK.
Siegfried and Joy have gained a bit of a following over the years, with over 95,000 followers on Instagram and 373,000 followers on TikTok, where they post short videos of their illusions. Most of the clips involve them disappearing from behind a piece of fabric. They frequently also show how they pull off the trick.

The Duo Is Auditioning for America’s Got Talent
Siegfried and Joy shared on Instagram that their audition for America’s Got Talent is their first U.S. performance. Not long after that, they performed their first show in Las Vegas, calling it a dream come true.
TV Insider recently shared a clip from the pair’s upcoming AGT audition. They show off a “prediction tunnel,” which contains a mystery fruit. The mystery is hilariously ruined as one member of the duo crawls into the tunnel wearing a banana costume.
Simon Cowell is asked to choose a card which supposedly contains the name of the fruit inside the tunnel. When it’s shown to be “strawberry,” Cowell thinks they got it wrong, but then the banana costume is revealed to have transformed into a strawberry.
Cowell looks a little unimpressed by the act, while fellow judge Sofia Vergara smiles and claps. We’ll have to wait and see if Siegfried and Joy have anything else up their sleeves to win Cowell over when AGT airs Tuesday night.
