As a drag queen in need of countless costumes, we totally understand why Shangela wants to take the outfits she wore on every episode of Dancing With The Stars season 31. In a recent TikTok, the drag entertainer joked about bringing home all her costumes from the series.
Shangela Collects Her Dancing With The Stars Costumes
Shangela recently returned to DWTS studio to create the funniest content for her TikTok followers. Apparently, she hopes to own all the sponsored ballroom outfits during her journey on the series.
“Gurl, Dancing With The Stars didn’t need these costumes!” the text in the clip reads.
In the video, she was leaving the room while rolling a garment rack containing all her custom-made costumes. According to her, she might be needing these clothes in her brand-new tour next year, Fully Lit.
“This #MirrorBallMonday was spent going back to DWTS and collecting my season costumes! I def need these for my #FullyLit tour!” she captioned the post. “Baby, Shangie was leaving nothing behind.”
While fans rode along with the joke, some of them seriously believe that Shangela must really have these costumes for free. One user even commented that DWTS doesn’t need the costumes anymore. However, such is not the case.
For those who may not know, the DWTS costume department keeps and organizes all the costumes in a big storage area. The production team would later use these in opening numbers, for the Dance Troupe, and on tour. At the end of the season, celebrities have the option to buy these outfits, as they are particularly designed for them.

She Hopes That Her Drag Representation in DWTS Would Inspire People
In her recent guesting in Good Morning America alongside other season 31 finalists, she talked about her partnership with dancing pro Gleb Savchenko. Having an impressive finish on DWTS, Shangela also wishes for the LGBTQIA+ community to receive more love.
“I hope that the representation of a drag entertainer on Dancing With The Stars just inspires more love,” she said. “Seeing the first male on male partnership with me and Gleb and see like how we got along and created such amazing art together.”
Soon after DWTS ended, Shangela has busied herself starring in season three of HBO series We’re Here. In this show, she’s back together with her co-drag queens Bob the Drag Queen and Eureka O’Hara. The show had just premiered last November 25.
