Shakira Moving to Miami With Her Kids, Months After Split From Gerard Piqué

It’s been reported that Shakira is officially relocating to Miami with her two sons. For those who may have missed it, Shakira and her partner of 11 years Gerard Piquè, recently split. The decision to move to Miami came after the ex-partners reached a custody agreement over their sons.
Shakira Says the Move is What’s “Best For the Kids”
Shakira’s family is preparing for more changes as the singer is in the process of relocating to Miami with her two sons. Barcelona has been the home for Shakira’s family for the last eight years, relocating to live with her maternal family.
After five months of separation from Gerard Piqué, Shakira has been facing multiple issues. Going through custody battles, and having to face a tax fraud case are only some of the challenges she had to face. Shakira chose to leave the tax fraud case in the hands of the law, but the good news is that they have reached an agreement on the custody battles.
“We have signed a custody agreement,” Shakira said. “Our sole objective is to provide our children with the utmost security and protection and hope that they can continue with their lives in a safe and calm environment.”
Although the aftermath of the divorce has been difficult for the singer, she continues to remain strong for her kids. Knowing what’s best for them is the mother’s responsibility and Shakira is indeed a responsible parent. Willing to go to any lengths even if it means moving back to their longtime home of Miami.
Gerard Piqué’s Parents Opened Up About The Split
Shakira and Piqué announced their split in June after Piqué allegedly cheated on the singer with his current girlfriend. Meanwhile, the former soccer player’s parents break their silence on the issue of their son’s split with Shakira.
“He needs to be calm to solve his problems with Shakira,” Piqué’s parents said
The parents, Joan Pique and Montserrat Bernabeu don’t tolerate their son’s actions opting for him to set things straight. They also dished on his retirement from FC Barcelona after a 25-year-long career.
“He is leaving Barça now because he doesn’t want to leave through the back door,” they said.
The former soccer player agreed to let Shakira take their boys to Miami after the holidays. The agreement was done on the condition that Piqué gets visitation rights to see his kids whenever he wants. The former partners are planning to keep their future agreements away from the limelight by lessening their interactions as much as possible.
