Second ‘The Voice’ Contestant Leaves the Show Unexpectedly

Mor Ilderton on 'The Voice' 2024

This season on The Voice, two contestants have left the competition unexpectedly, without being eliminated. The first was Tanner Frick on Team Bublé, who left before the Season 26 Knockouts. This week, Team Gwen’s Mor Ilderton left.

The Voice Contestants Leave the Show

This week, as Gwen Stefani was introducing the contestants on her team to Mega Mentor Sting, she mentioned that Mor Ilderton (whom she stole from Michael Bublé) “had to go home.”

A reason was not given for Ilderton’s departure, and a rep for the show reportedly told Entertainment Weekly that there was no more information available. Meanwhile, Ilderton has been posting on social media about his new song, out Friday.

Ilderton’s departure from the show comes just a week after fans learned that Tanner Frick would not be returning for the Knockouts. Frick turned all four coaches’ chairs in his audition, opting to join Reba McEntire’s team.

Frick ended up being stolen by Bublé in the Battles. Host Carson Daly told fans that Frick had “left the competition after rehearsals.” Some fans suspect that the singer might have signed a recording contract.

The Knockouts Continued without Them

The departure of Frick and lderton didn’t stop the show from going on. Instead of Three-Way Knockouts, Stefani and Bublé had to decide between two of their artists. In Bublé’s case, the Knockout was between Cameron Wright and Sloane Simon.

Buble chose Cameron as the winner of the Knockout, but Sloane impressed him enough to save her. Then this week, Team Gwen’s Sydney Sterlace went up against Jan Dan. Sydney won the Knockout, but Stefani chose to save Jan.

What do you think about Frick and Ilderton leaving the competition? Are you sad to see them go? Do you think either of them could have won the show if they had stayed? Let us know in the comments below.
