Sainted Trap Choir is bringing black music experience and gospel tunes to America’s Got Talent season 18. The Charlotte-based music group is officially set to hit the stage on Tuesday, June 6. Here’s everything to know about them.
Sainted Trap Choir Joins America’s Got Talent Season 18
In their Instagram post on June 1, Sainted Trap Choir revealed that they are competing on America’s Got Talent 2023. The music group also took the time to invite their followers to a watch party of their audition performance.
“We are excited to announce that SAINTED has taken our talents to the America’s Got Talent stage, fusing soulful harmonies with infectious trap beats. Brace yourselves for an unforgettable performance,” they wrote.
Sainted is trap choir consisting of black singers primarily based in Charlotte, North Carolina. The group was founded with the intent of gathering black musicians and singers, to pay homage to the southern black church. Their sound consists of a variety of tunes including trap music, old school funk, soul music and hip hop.
Apparently, it was the pandemic that allowed Sainted Trap Choir to be together and create music. Now, they are set to bring their passion to a national stage.
They Performed During Alicia Keys’ American Tour
Sainted Trap Choir’s talent hasn’t been left unnoticed during their time as a group. Although they were founded in 2020, they’ve had quite the rise to fame. In August 2022, they even sang on stage with Alicia Keys’ during her tour.
“The Shakedown to the queen Alicia Keys, thank you for allowing us to be part of such a special show. We love you, we are so inspired by you and we are excited for what is to come for you!” they wrote.
Sainted Trap Choir also become a part of Red Bull Symphonic, rocking the stage alongside Rick Ross and Orchestra Noir. AGT fans can officially get excited for a unique choir to hit the stage this season. Sainted Choir’s audition is set to air on Tuesday, June 6 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
