RuPaul’s Drag Race has been a cultural phenomenon since it first aired in 2009. The show featured some of the most talented drag queens from around the world, and its popularity continues to grow. Unfortunately, one of its winners, Tyra Sanchez, was recently arrested for assault on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest.

Tyra Sanchez Got Arrested For Allegedly Threatening to Shoot Police

Sanchez is the stage name of James Ross, who won the second season of RuPaul’s Drag Race in 2010. She is known for her outrageous style and outspoken attitude. However, on June 10, 2023, she was arrested in Florida after allegedly threatening to shoot an officer.

According to reports, she’d been involved in a verbal altercation with another individual when police were called to the scene. When officers attempted to intervene, Sanchez reportedly became aggressive and threatened them with violence.

The arrest report states that Sanchez was charged with assault on a law enforcement officer and resisting without violence. She was later released on bond but faces up to five years in prison if convicted. This incident has caused shockwaves throughout the drag community as many fans are disappointed by her behavior.

Sanchez has yet to comment publicly about her arrest but many have taken to social media to express their outrage over her actions. Many feel that this incident tarnishes the reputation of RuPaul’s Drag Race and its contestants who strive for excellence in their art form. Others have defended Sanchez by pointing out that she may have been provoked or misunderstood by police officers at the scene of the incident.

Sanchez Has Always Been a Controversial Drag Star

Sanchez is a controversial drag star who has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons. She was recently arrested in Florida for allegedly threatening to shoot a police officer. This isn’t the first time Sanchez has made headlines for her controversial behavior.

It began with a series of controversies that surrounded the performer for years. In 2016, she faced criticism for telling a fan to “go kill yourself,” and in 2017, she drew backlash for falsely claiming that Morgan McMichaels had passed away.

In 2019, she was banned from attending RuPaul’s DragCon due to her threatening physical violence against other queens. She also caused an uproar when she posted a video on Instagram where she threatened to “beat up” another drag queen, Shea Coulee. Despite her controversies, Sanchez remains one of the most popular drag stars in the world and continues to have a large following on social media.
